Jonathan Kruger: "I try to look after our Zambian World War 2 Veterans. I first found these old warriors of the Kings African Rifles regiment begging at a bus station for a little food wearing their old British WW2 uniforms and medals for bravery. My heart went our to them every since then. I try to feed them cloth them as there are suffering in terrible conditions in their old age. These old Zambian warriors fought all over world in North African, Somalia, Italy, Madagascar, Burma, Singapore. And later on in Malaya against the Chinese Communists in the Malaysian Emergency in the 1950s. These old warriors need our help in their old age."

MEDAL OF KAR

"My life has never being the same again after meeting the Zambian veterans of the Kings African Rifles. I am trying to locate as many of these old warriors as possible around the country and try to find some support just to feed them, and buy fertiliser for their corn and sweet potato fields that grow behind their houses in the villages and townships. They are truly the forgotten soldiers and heroes of the Second World War. As time goes by they will fade away in history with out anyone knowing about them. I hope to raise funds to write a history book about them for the schools here in Zambia and so that this generation of youth will know that Zambia and its people sacrificed 15 000 brave soldiers to bring peace to the whole world. All Gave Some, Some Gave All!"
